New state-of-the-art NHS mental health care unit

P&DG has successfully managed the hybrid planning application for a new, modern Mental Health Unit at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester, achieving unanimous approval by committee vote. This project, appointed by the lead contractor, Tilbury Douglas, on behalf of the NHS Leicestershire Partnership Trust, will transform a 3.42-hectare site into a cutting-edge facility, featuring four adult acute mental health wards, an urgent care hub, and a neuromodulation centre. The initiative is part of a larger strategy to upgrade the hospital’s infrastructure, replacing the outdated Bradgate Unit to meet contemporary mental health care needs. This approval covers full permission for the service road and outline permission for the new building, ensuring a comprehensive approach to development.

Nottingham Trent University’s Solar Powered Container Farms
Our earlier success in securing planning permission for Nottingham Trent University’s solar-powered container farms was highlighted by BBC News this month. These state-of-the-art farms, employing AI and hydroponics, are set to transform sustainable agriculture by increasing crop yields and reducing energy use. We are thrilled to contribute to an initiative that tackles global challenges such as climate change and food security.

Redevelopment of Newholme Hospital in Bakewell

Our team has been instrumental in the redevelopment of the historic Newholme Hospital in Bakewell. Over the past six years, we’ve collaborated with NHS Property Services and Fisher German LLP to create a detailed development brief, which has been endorsed by the Peak District National Park Authority. This brief ensures the preservation of the site’s heritage while providing clear guidelines for future development. This project highlights our commitment to managing complex developments within conservation areas. Kudos to all the teams involved for successfully navigating this challenging site!
