Establishing a robust and connected blue and green infrastructure is the basic building block of all our masterplans and layout design. The National Design Guide and current good practice recognises that this is an increasingly important fundamental principle in creating places and successful integrated developments.
We believe that blue and green infrastructure and an integrated landscape strategy are essential to the sustainable layout design, reflected throughout our project work.
P&DG’s portfolio shows the type and different levels of landscape planning that we can undertake from strategic landscape infrastructure, open space proposals, design for biodiversity and ecological gain, Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments, and planning for historic gardens and landscapes. We also have experience of integrating sustainable urban expansion development in its countryside context as well as landscape design coding and guidance. We have a network of expertise consultants that support and inform our work in this area.
Design in the public realm, including streetscape improvement proposals, is also an area of work that we can deliver. We have both planning and design expertise that contributes to this area of our work. This includes public realm audit, streetscape improvements and making our streets safer, more sustainable and multi-use of street space.
