The historic environment is managed and not only at the level of individual buildings, sites of monuments, but also in terms of entire landscapes. Preserving these vast area of land is a crucial part of England’s heritage, whether it be a National Park, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or World Heritage Site.
Our heritage experience involves giving advice, guidance and preparing development proposals that are in effect historic landscapes. We also have experience of Landscape Visual Impact Assessment work to assess the overall impact of any scheme.
P&DG obtained planning permission in 2021 for the first green field housing scheme approved in a World Heritage Site Buffer Zone. Extensive robust assessments of the historic environment to preserve the Outstanding Universal Value of the World Heritage Site while providing quality affordable homes in Belper were undertaken.
